What You Get Back
An audit looks at four things together, because looking only at the website misses too much. A technically clean site can still have the wrong pages, a poor Google listing, or a competitor who has built a far stronger presence around the searches that matter.
Those findings become a written document with the problems numbered in the order they are worth fixing, and an indication of what each one is worth. It's written plainly enough for a developer, a website owner or a marketing person to act on.
SEO Audit Services
Search Console shows which pages and searches already have visibility, and the work then concentrates on the pages where a change has a realistic chance of producing more useful traffic.
- The faults I find most often: the setting that tells search engines not to index a site after a rebuild, a staging site left open to search engines, a booking system on another subdomain taking the searches for the business name, several pages competing for the same search, and one generic services page trying to rank for six services
- The listing faults: the wrong primary category, and businesses that changed address without redirecting the old pages
- What keeps turning up: pages that get seen but not clicked, which are often the fastest opportunities on a site. A page already appearing for a useful search usually needs a better title, description or structure rather than a whole new strategy
- What gets measured: for a local business I can measure map visibility from more than one point in the area, rather than treating one location as the whole market. A business can look strong from its own address and much weaker a few kilometres away
- What gets recorded: the searches that matter, the pages appearing for them, the main technical problems and the businesses competing for the same searches

What Happens Next
You get the document
Numbered problems in fixing order, with an indication of what each one is worth.
You decide who does the work
The audit is useful whether I do the fixes or somebody else does. It's yours either way.
The fixes get quoted, or absorbed
I can quote them alongside the audit, or they can be covered by the weekly service if you carry on with it. The pricing page has the numbers.
SEO Audits for Byron Bay and Northern Rivers Businesses
Most of the audits I do are for businesses around Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers, though plenty are for businesses much further away.
An audit is particularly useful when a site has recently been rebuilt, when traffic has dropped, when another SEO has told you the site needs a rebuild, when you want an independent view before committing to ongoing work, or when you know the site is not performing and cannot see why.
Sometimes the answer is that the site needs replacing rather than repairing, and then it becomes a small business website job instead. The audit tells you which of the two you are looking at.
If you just want the short version first, the free site check gives you three things and costs nothing.

What is the difference between the free site check and a paid SEO audit?
The free site check gives you the three things I think are costing you enquiries and what I would fix first. The paid audit is a fuller investigation of the site, the Google listing, your search data and your competitors, with the findings written in fixing order.
How long does an SEO audit take?
Normally turned around inside a week.
Can my developer use the audit?
Yes. The recommendations are written as practical jobs rather than as SEO terminology that needs another explanation before anybody can act on it.
Do I have to use you to fix the problems?
No. The audit is yours and you can hand it to another developer or SEO specialist.
Can you fix the problems after the audit?
Yes. I can quote the fixes separately, or they can be covered by the weekly local SEO service if you carry on with it.
