SEO Services for Restaurants and Cafes
Venue work is mostly listing work, and the booking button and the menu do most of it.
- Google Business Profile: the category set correctly, special hours entered before every public holiday, and photos kept current
- Booking connection: whether your booking system is a Reserve with Google partner or is only supplying a link, and connecting it where it can be connected
- Menu as text: your menu as real text on your own page rather than a PDF or a photograph, which is what lets Google read it
- Dish and category pages: a page for each thing people search beyond your name, which is usually breakfast, pizza, gluten free and dog friendly
- Functions and events: a page of its own for functions and weddings, with the room capacities, what is included and a form that comes to you
- Ordering links: checking whose ordering link is sitting on your listing, and changing it to the one you would have chosen
Why Restaurant SEO Is a Different Game
The Book a table button on a Google listing does not come from Google. It comes from your booking system being a Reserve with Google partner, and a system that is not on that list can only hand you a link to paste in. The difference is larger than it sounds, because a link sends somebody to your website to start the booking again while a connection finishes it inside Google on the phone they are already holding, and Google has been extending AI Mode into making reservations through the platforms that hold live availability.
The searches people type before they have chosen anywhere, best restaurants in Byron Bay and everything shaped like it, are held by national publishers whose entire business is that list. What a single venue can win instead is its own name, its dishes, its dietary categories and its function space. Each of those needs a page of its own, which is the half of local SEO that happens away from the listing.
Delivery is the other pressure on the margin. Commission differs between an order the platform delivers, one you deliver yourself and one the customer collects, and the gap between those three is what decides whether it is worth pushing people at an app or at your own ordering page and your own number.
Where I work
Restaurant SEO for Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers
Whether you want restaurant SEO in Byron Bay or SEO for a cafe or function venue across the Northern Rivers, the work starts with your Google Business Profile, because in a town where most of your customers are already on the footpath the booking decision gets made there rather than on your website.
Two things on a listing change without you touching them. Ordering links are added automatically once a delivery provider tells Google it has a relationship with you, and your menu is transcribed from your own website and from third parties, with the source Google uses being something you can choose. Both are worth checking whenever bookings drop without an obvious cause.

Frequently Asked Questions
Asked most often about the Google listing.
How do I get a Book a table button on my Google listing?
Your booking system has to be a Reserve with Google partner, and Google publishes the list. If yours is not on it the most you get is a link into your own site, and I will tell you what your current system supports before you spend anything on changing it.
Why is there an ordering link on my listing that I did not put there?
Because a delivery provider told Google it has a relationship with you, and Google adds those automatically. There are three ways out. Name a preferred provider so yours shows first, turn ordering off on the profile altogether, or ask the provider to remove its link.
Should my menu be a PDF?
No. Google reads text, and it cannot use a PDF or a photograph of the chalkboard as its source when somebody searches for a dish. The menu goes on its own page as real text, which also means the specials can be changed in a minute.
How do I get more function and wedding enquiries?
A page for functions on its own, carrying the room capacities, what is included and a form that comes to you. Google has no listing surface for an event enquiry, so this one is won on a page rather than in the listing, and it is worth the most per booking of anything a venue can rank for.
